2009-10 Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Less than two weeks after missing the playoffs for the 2nd consecutive season, the Buccaneers franchise fired both Head Coach John Gruden and GM Bruce Allen. The next day, the recently promoted Defensive Coordinator Raheem Morris was promoted to Head Coach and Mark Dominik was announced as the new Bucs GM.
The team decided to release a host of players to include both QB’s Jeff Garcia and Brian Griese and RB Warrick Dunn as well as receivers Joey Galloway and Ike Hilliard. They resigned QB Luke McCown, RB Derrick Ward and LB Angelo Crowell. In the draft, the Bucs selected Kansas State QB Josh Freeman in the first round (the 17th overall pick) and Texas DT Roy Miller in the 3rd round. The Bucs also traded for TE Kellen Winslow Jr.
Look for Coach Morris to bring the best out of his players and challenge every position for the starting job. The team will need season ticket holders to help motivate their team to get back to the NFC Championships.
